Official Guild Charter
Bregan D'Aerth is a guild dedicated to experiencing EverQuest in all its forms. Not just the current standard of loot and levels, but for what made EverQuest great, its Community. We do not define ourselves by how many Dragons we have felled or what mystical items our members possess. Instead we seek to be known for the quality of our members and our commitment to making the world of Norrath a fun and exciting place to visit.
Bregan D'Aerth, or simply BDA, is primarily a Raiding guild. While we do not seek to be known for felling Dragons, we do seek to do just that. From Nagafen to the Guardians of Sleepers Tomb we will challenge every being set before us. Banding together to war with a dragon or to invade a plane of a god is an exciting part of what EverQuest has to offer and we plan to partake of this when our other existence allows. We define ourselves as a Non-Hardcore Raiding guild. Simply put, we will not face a power of Norrath every night... instead, we seek to find a balance between our time in EverQuest and our obligations in other worlds.
If you would join us, study our rules and codes below, than submit an application for review.
Raid Plans and Schedule
Bregan D'Aerth (BDA) is first and foremost a raiding guild. We will be raiding 3 to 4 times a week so be prepared! Our goal is to complete all what Norrath has to offer.
Raid Attendance
BDA does not require a minimum attendance. If you are in game when a raid is going on, you are expected to be at that raid This rule excludes members who are not high enough in level to attend the raid.
Raiding Schedule/Time-zone
No precise schedule has been set, but we are lean towards CST for raids as this gives everyone a fair chance to participate in the raids.
Leaving A Raid Early
If you are going to leave a raid early, please let us know at least 15 to 30 minutes before you leave. Sneaking out of a raid without informing any of the officers or leaders will result in some form of disciplinary action.
Website attendance
We strongly encourage everyone to visit the forum regularly for announcements and other news. We will often post planned raids in advance, as well as raid information and strategies that we expect everyone to know before the raid.
Code of Conduct
BDA members are expected to act respectfully to their fellow players, and activities such as purposeful training, kill stealing, griefing, ninja looting, excessive greed in pick up groups and in general, being a "douchebag" will not be tolerated.
Guild Tag
All BDA members are expected to wear their guild tag with pride. This means you may not go /anon (which conceals your guild tag) unless instructed to by the guild leader.
Maturity
Here at BDA we expect every one of our members to act like adults. We require that you act in a mature manner at ALL TIMES. It does not matter where you are. We just expect for you to at least be respectful your fellow players.
On the Project 1999 Forums
Spamming the forums, excessive flaming, begging and any other conduct similar in nature, simply will not be tolerated. We do not condone these types of behavior; If we see any of the above actions on the forums we will discipline you. Which includes possibly removing you from this guild. So think before you type and be considerate of your fellow board members.
In BDA
Again, BDA does not have an age requirement but we do expect all of our members to act like adults even when your guild-mates surround you. As is with the Project 1999 forum rules, so it is true here: Spamming guild chat, excessive flaming, begging or any other annoying conduct similar in nature will not be tolerated. These behaviors will be subject to some form of disciplinary action if the offense is above what is considered appropriate in guild-chat and or around guild-mates. While certain "horse playing" comments will be to an extent let go: Racist, sexist or any hurtful or harmful comments will NOT be tolerated and the offender can expect to be punished harshly.
Cheating and Exploits
BDA has a zero(0) tolerance policy for cheating and exploits. Anything to do with exploiting bugs in the game will not be allowed here. You know what cheating is. DON'T DO IT! Some examples include: 2-boxing, any third-party hacking program such as MacroQuest2, etc... If found to be doing any of the aforementioned actions, you will be automatically removed from the guild as well as permanently banned from ever joining BDA again.
Disciplinary Action
Disciplinary action can include but is not limited to warnings, probation, suspension, withholding loot from one or more raids, as well as being removed from BDA entirely. Our guild leaders and officers will review infractions of the code of conduct on a case-by-case basis to determine the best course of action. Previous infractions will be considered but won’t be completely determine the out-come of your case (unless the infraction is excessively cruel in-nature)
If you have more then 2 MAJOR infractions or violations (Major meaning: cruel or immoral comments or repeatedly not following orders on raids, etc...) You will automatically be placed on the "Suspended List", and will be immediately reviewed by the officers. Having said that, here are the two situations or actions that would then follow.
Note: Major infractions are the worst possible non "zero(0)" tolerance situations. Officers or Leaders reserve the right to discuss any major infractions, but the Guild Leader or Lead Officers are ultimately the only people who decide what is considered a major infraction.
Officers will review major infractions on a case-by-case basis. If they feel the offender deserves a second chance, then they will allow the "body" (the members) to then vote during a two-week evaluation period. The members will automatically vote repetitive minor infraction offenders also during a two-week period. If the officer’s feel that this person does not deserve a second chance then they will automatically be removed from the guild and possibly even banned from re-applying.
If more then 50% votes for removal then the officers will look into your situation, and decide what should be done. While the officers in the end decide your fate; it is the members who give the officers a gauge. So if the members vote 60% against you, chances are you won't be staying. If then the officers decide that you need to leave, then so be it.
If your fellow peers vote to give you another chance within the guild (less then 50% vote for your removal) then chances are the officers won't remove you (anything below 40% against you will be a stretch for a guild removal). At that point you will be placed on a probation period in which if you commit any major infractions within this period you’ll be immediately removed from the guild no questions asked. Any build-up (more then 2 or 3 within 2-3 months) of minor infractions will put you once again on the suspended list (for a period of time). If after you get out of your suspension you continue to cause/create problems for the guild, you will be removed from the guild.
You have one(1) last chance in both of these situations to get back in. As it has been said, you do have a chance to redeem yourself but at a later date (cannot re-apply until a month after removal). At which time your trial membership will begin and our Application Officers will grade your performance more critically. Because of a previous removal you’d need both of the New Recruit officers as well as the Lead Recruit Officer and last but not least the Guild Leader to sign-off on your re-instatement in order for you to be viewed as a regular member again.
Application Process
Applications at this time are closed for regular members. However trial membership is open and you may apply for that.
Trial Membership
The process for applying, as a trial member is exactly the same as regular member. In that regard they are the same, but everything else from that point on is different.
Cap
Yes there is a cap but we will not disclose it until we are near our trial member limit.
Inactivity
While we don't require constant raid attendance, we do require that our members remain an active part of our guild. Members who are inactive for two months may be relegated to trial status, or removed from the guild completely.
Loot rules
We use a loot council to determine loot. Factors considered are seniority, contributions to the guild, how big of an upgrade it is for you, what alternatives you can get compared to other people needing the item as well, and how recently you've gotten loot.
Ventrilo
We do not require the use of voice communication, but we do actively use Ventrilo, and encourage all members to at least listen. Raid commands will be repeated in guild chat, but initial commands are given in Ventrilo.
Grouping
BDA won't ever force you to group with guildies however we do encourage you do join a guild-mate or a guild group as much as possible. As for other things concerning guild groups:
- BDA does not care for what you gain on your own time grouping. We won't ever tell you that you have to contribute items won in regular guild groups to the guild.
- When in regular guild groups you won't be forced to use a certain item system. Whatever the group uses is fine with us.
Officer Jobs
At this time Sanluen currently leads the guild. Him and the other current officers will make decisions regarding officer promotion, based on the need of the guild and your contributions.
Class Leaders
These are jobs designated to certain over-achieving members who show a dedication and overall thorough understanding of their class. 7 to 8 members will be chosen from the membership ranks. This is a job you cannot simply apply for, but have to earn through hard work and willingness to help your fellow members.
CL’s are expected not only to know but maintain at least a working friendship with everyone in their specific class. You are expected to know the important stats of the members in your class.
Leaving BDA
If you are going to decide for any reason that you want to leave BDA, and join another guild; YOU MUST DO TWO THINGS FIRST!
1.) PM the Guild Leader and let him know you are leaving. You don’t even need to give a reason why you are leaving just be a grown up and let him know.
2.) REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE ROSTER. If you don't know how to do this PM Sanluen or any officer and we will gladly do it for you.
New Members
If you want to join this guild but you are in another guild, there are two simple things you must do to be eligible to submit an application.
- Contact the leader or the recruiting officer of your current guild
- Remove yourself from that guild
If any Officers or Leaders of BDA find that you have left this guild for another without contacting the Guild Leader, you will never again be eligible for membership in BDA.
If you decide you want to be in both guilds at the same time, then your membership will be taken away and you will never again be eligible to apply. There are NO EXCEPTIONS!
Final Thoughts
How we choose to play and act affects the entire server; we can be a positive force or a negative one. All BDA members are expected to be a POSITIVE force for the server and following the simple guidelines outlined above is a good start to achieving that goal.
